Course Overview

Lead College offers the CHC30121 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals aiming to pursue a career in early childhood education and care. This qualification reflects the role of educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. Graduates work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for the supervision of volunteers or other staff.

Entry Requirement

To qualify for Smart and Skilled funding, applicants must:

  • Be at least 15 years old
  • No longer be attending school
  • Be living or working in New South Wales
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen​

Students must: 

  • Be 18 years of age or older at the time of course commencement
  • Undertake an LLN assessment and enrolment interview prior to acceptance.
  • Have completed Australian Year 11 or equivalent level of schooling or a Certificate II or higher qualification with an Australian institution
  • Have the ability to undertake a work placement at an aged care, home and community care, disability care or community service organisation. 
  • Must have computer literacy to be able to access material and complete assessments.
  • Additional eligibility considerations apply to specific groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and students with disabilities.​
